Brooke: 2 Years!
My goodness, Brooke's growing up!
She's using so many words right now! Sometimes, they just sound like words, but we know what she's trying to say for the most part. Audra helps us out sometimes with that. Her sentences are about four words at the longest, like when she said "Daddy, milk all gone" tonight. She loves to sing songs and can sing about 30% of the words and get the tune right to most of her favorites (Itsy Bitsy Spider, Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star).
Her sleep is okay. Could be worse, could be better. She's been napping and sleeping in her big-girl bed for six months now. She takes afternoon naps about 50% of the time. Her nighttime sleep is pretty good; she'll be asleep between 8:00 and 8:30 pm. Recently, she's been waking up in the middle of the night and finishing out the night in Daddy's bed.
Girl can eat just about anything. Cereal, oatmeal, pancakes, eggs, sandwiches, pasta, rice, Chick-fil-a, French fries, cookies, carrots, apples, oranges, strawberries, and pho to name more than a few. Sometimes, she won't eat all of something, but she's pretty consistent on what she eats and doesn't eat. She's very insistent on helping out in the kitchen by pouring or mixing something.
Her favorite place to play is outside in our side yard. She's especially fond of the tire swing we installed a year ago and loves to go fast and high. Bubbles are another favorite as are her tricycles. She loves seeing our friends in the neighborhood and always wants to play with them when she sees them outside.
She likes to brush her teeth and take her clothes off and put them on. Potty training is complete! Just need to get her to grow a little taller so she can get on and off the commode by herself.
She mimics her big sister and adores her little sister. She'll cry rivers when Mommy leaves the house for any reason without her. The Aggies are on anytime she sees football on the TV, and she's pretty adept with her tablet.
Overall, she's showing so much personality and independence. She wants to do things that big sister does, and she wants to do them by herself. We can't wait to see what she'll take on next!
