Audra: 11 Months!

Likes: Zoe. Feeding Zoe. Petting Zoe. Crawling after Zoe. Other babies. Helping Daddy shave and brush his teeth. Mommy and only Mommy some nights. Looking out the window in your room when you're on the bed with us. Clapping. Mommy's teeth.

Dislikes: Things not happening on your schedule. Walking without at least a finger to grab onto. Hats (or anything on her head). Teething.

Milestones: We are up to 4 unassisted steps! Walking is slow-going, and you seem to have very little interest in it. You are standing unassisted for up to 15 seconds, though! You still haven't figured out to stand up in the middle of the room on your own (only can pull up), but with all your headstands, I think you are trying to figure it out. You're still uttering aye-yai-yai-yai-yai and ba-ba-ba-ba; Daddy thinks you're just working your way down the alphabet. You are also working on your 3rd tooth, but it is taking its sweet time to cut through.

Weight/Height: Around 18 lbs and short.

Clothing Size: We have moved you up to mostly 12-month stuff, since that is the size your fall clothes are in, but they are still a bit big for you, shrimp. You still wear some of your 9 and 6-12 month stuff on the warmer days.

Eating: You seem to have days where you eat better. I don't know if it is just the food we are offering you or your mood. You seem to have gotten a little bit pickier. Also, there is the added complication during mealtimes that you see Zoe waiting patiently for your crumbs, and you like to go ahead and drop food for her. You've recently had longan, which Daddy thinks is your first "exotic" Asian fruit.

Sleep: You have been waking up in the middle of the night again recently. Usually twice per night, and the times vary. A quick feeding/nurse usually puts you back to sleep.

Random Tidbits: I love love love the look of wonderment you get in your eyes when you discover something "new" and of interest. You kind of inhale and hold your breath, press your lips and your eyes get big. Then you slowly edge your way towards it. You are coming out of your shell more at storytime and Kindermusik - finally showing some smiles and interacting with the other babies. We think you got sick one night since you threw up two times on Mommy, and we think it's a stomach virus since both Mommy and Daddy threw up and got really sick later that week. Whenever we share bites of our food with you outside the kitchen, you like to offer it to Zoe and let her lick it but don't let go, then you eat it yourself. You clap whenever you hear the audience or just for yourself.

How are Mommy and Daddy Doing?: Daddy's tired since he's been spending a lot of time at the lab lately, but he does his best to get you and feed you in the morning when you wake up so that Mommy can sleep in. Mommy is exhausted most of the time, but you are worth it.

Looking Forward To: Walking! Watching airplanes at the airport with your Daddy! 12 months and birthday party!
