End of the Line
Today was the first day in 14.5 months that I didn't nurse my baby. I really never thought it would be so sad. My end goal was always a year, but once we reached that point it was no longer something I minded doing. I wasn't really sure how to wean her, so I just went with the flow - there was really no rush to get her off. I've always nursed on demand and slowly she stopped fussing or asking for it much. It got to where she really only asked once a day, usually first thing when she woke up or late afternoon. There is something so deeply gratifying about watching your baby nurse and sit up with a look of complete content. It is really hard to let go of that.
