2014 was...

a whirlwind. So much of our life has changed over the past year. It was all anticipated, but being on the other end of all the change is sometimes surreal.

Chi defended, graduated, and started a new job this year. The transition from being in grad-student mode 24/7 to having a semblance of a work-life balance has been awesome. The months we were in Texas while waiting for Chi's job to start and then for us to close on a house were some of the longest months ever. It is great to now be a constant family unit.

The biggest change this year was obviously moving across the country and buying our first house. We also bought our first brand-new car the same day we closed on our house. Goodbye, cash we had been saving up for years. The upside is knowing our income and anticipated costs for the next 5 years and being able to live comfortably with some room to splurge. It has been so fun to make a place our own and have complete freedom.

The past 8 months have been really hard on me. This pregnancy, or rather the combination of raising a toddler and this pregnancy, have taken a massive toll on my energy level. I am so looking forward to feeling like myself again, though I know that probably won't happen for another year or so.

Super excited for what 2015 will bring as well. Obviously, the growth of our family will be the highlight, but we also have a trip tentatively planned to go back to Texas, and we will have less weekend projects that eat up our time leaving more family time on the weekends. Can't wait!
