Screen Time

Screen time isn't exactly recommended before the age of two. It was pretty easy to avoid before she turned one because of attention spans and comprehension and whatnot. A few desperate moments here and there in early January lead to a few 1/2 shows. Then March rolls around and someone is teething and we cancelled cable and PBS is one of the only stations that we get and so I record Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood + she loves Oswald and we have gotten into watching a full show almost 5 days a week. Oswald is super boring and weird and lame, but it instantly helps when she is in a bad mood. Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood on the other hand really seems to teach her things. Chi also might be obsessed with it. I really don't want to make TV time a true habit, but I don't think it is something we can avoid altogether at this point. Sometimes she will seem to watch almost the whole episode, while other times she will go play while it is still on in the background. Hopefully she will cut some teeth or grow out of this grumpy phase and it will become less of a crutch.
