Room Sharing
Audra and Brooke have been rooming together for over a month now. Overall, it is going well. There are some nights where one keeps the other from going to sleep and some mornings where one wakes the other up, but really, considering their age, they are rocking it.
Since Brooke was moving into Audra's room (which was formerly Brooke's nursery) I wanted to really accomplish a shared space vibe. The first order of business was getting them new beds. We went with the Ikea ones because of the storage and price. I then created a little gallery wall above each bed that anchored it as each of their space.
We took off the door to the closet a while back and cleared out all of the stuff we were storing in there and moved it all to the attic. I put the dress up wardrobe and Brooke's dresser in there and we store some of the extra toys in there as well. It really helped in making the room feel less cramped and gave us a place to put the doll house in the room.
Chi made the new bookshelf by the door which has a spot for books up top and spot for stuffed animals and toys on bottom. With two sides, they can each eventually claim one side if needed.
Here are cell phone pictures of the room as is is today. I'm pretty happy with how it has come together.
