A Sight for Sore Eyes
So one of our issues with this place was the backyard. When looking for a place to live one of the big things was having a fenced yard for Zoe. I didn't want to have to put her on a leash and take her outside 2-4 times a day. She takes forever to do her business and its frustrating as hell. This place fit all our criteria and was a great price point. The only downside was sharing walls (and even worse, a ceiling).
When we pulled up to the place and opened the door there were lots of good things that had been done, and lots of things that really should have been done. Overall not to bad. Then we stepped into the back yard.
Unfortunately, I don't have a before picture, but it was just dirt with some dead leaves and trash thrown in.

The right is what the whole yard looked like.
We knew this wouldn't fly with Zoe. She is a dirt magnet and everything sticks to her. She would come back in with a bunch of stuff all in her tail and on her butt. *garh*
So today we headed to the local rock & turf shop to check out the price for a half palette of grass. $60 and it was in the back of our truck. We went home, laid it out in the middle of the yard, Chi watered it while I watched through the air conditioned window, and this is the result:
This picture doesn't do it justice. There are greener and deader spots, but overall it looks healthy. We only did 1/2 a pallett so we covered the middle of the yard. We are going to see how it does and then decide if we want more. Zoe seemed to like the grass, but she also was interested in escaping through the gate...
Excited to have something decent to look at in our back yard! Hopefully it is money well spent. Super excited we don't pay for water, cause we will be using a lot on it.
